2023 has been a remarkable year for Oculus Travel, marking our first full year since our inception in August 2022. Our journey began with our first client setting off in September 2022 and our website going live in November 2022, laying the foundation for a year filled with growth, exploration, and travel experiences.

Launch Event: Choreographing Connection in Africa

In March 2023, we celebrated our official launch at the Four Seasons Downtown Manhattan. The evening encapsulated our essence - connecting people, places, and passions. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who joined us, especially those who traveled from afar. The event, co-hosted with Classic Escapes, highlighted our commitment to crafting personalized journeys to Africa, fostering deep connections with the continent's beauty, culture, and conservation efforts.

Regenerative Travel: Agents of Change

April 2023 marked a significant milestone as Oculus Travel became a founding member of Regenerative Travel's Agents of Change program. This initiative aligns with our mission to promote sustainable and impactful travel, empowering us to be stewards of change in the travel industry.

Connecting Continents: Client Journeys and Industry Engagements

Our year was marked by hosting memorable client trips to Botswana and Zimbabwe, showcasing these destinations' awe-inspiring natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. In May, we attended Africa's Travel Indaba and We Are Africa, two pivotal conferences that allowed us to forge new partnerships and strengthen existing ones within the travel industry.

Partnering for Impact: Classic Portfolio's Megafam

In September, we joined Classic Portfolio's Impact Megafam and workshop, an enlightening experience that took us through Namibia and South Africa's breathtaking landscapes. The beauty of the desert and the innovative conservation and community initiatives we witnessed left us profoundly inspired and further committed to promoting sustainable travel practices. This journey was not just about witnessing the beauty of Africa but also understanding and contributing to the positive impact travel can have on the environment and local communities.

Accreditations and Contributions

In August 2023, Oculus Travel received the prestigious CCRA TRUE accreditation, a testament to our commitment to excellence and professionalism in the travel industry. Additionally, our contribution to Intentional Living Magazine in October highlighted our philosophy of transforming travel into a force for positive change.

Empowering Women: Serengeti Girls Run

November 2023 saw our participation in the Serengeti Girls Run, a challenging multi-stage running event consisting of 3 half marathons over 3 consecutive days. This physically demanding and empowering charity event supported female empowerment in Tanzania, perfectly aligning with our values of sustainability and social responsibility. Our commitment through this run underscores our dedication to making a positive impact through travel.
